Gibson A-5l Mandolin

Highly figured maple back and sides are among the outstanding features in the overall appearance of this teardrop shaped instrument. The metal components are gold plated, and it does include the Gibson pickguard. Above all, the tone quality from this mandolin is exquisite. It rings like a bell up the neck, has a deep and full overall timbre, and the chops have the desireable "bark" produced from an excellent mandolin.

It will be difficult to put this one back in the case once you start playing it. The neck and playing action are what one might expect from a truly professional instrument ...comfortable, yet with a solid feel to the neck.

Constructed like the famed "F-5 Fern", the A-5, belongs to the same Loar series. The "A" model is essentially the same mandolin as the "F" model, without the Scroll on the body.
