Active Humbucking Banjo Pickup features natural sound and accurate microphone-like quality. With key input (and ears) from several top banjo players, Fishman's R & D team has spent over a year refining and tweaking this pickup's performance.
Like it's soundhole-pickup cousin, which shares the Rare Earth name, this new banjo pickup features a quiet humbucking coil that dutifully rejects EMI induced noise. A powerful Neodymium magnet in the pickup focuses the banjo's acoustic energy through a small steel shim that is affixed to the head of the banjo.
Hidden in the pickup's housing is a stealthy preamplifier which strengthens the signal and preserves the natural sound of the instrument. The Rare Earth Humbucking Banjo pickup mounts on instruments with either single or dual co-coordinator rods (single rod instruments require a special fitting).
