 Take a master class with the two-time IBMA Banjo Player of the Year, Sammy Shelor. This book contains all of the solos - and six selected backups - from the Lonesome River Band's One Step Forward and Sammy's debut solo release, Leading Roll.

Here is a unique opportunity to examine and study the style of a very influential and imitated banjo picker. The book combines solos and backup from both instrumental and vocal material. Several styles are highlighted as well as a number of keys and tunings.

Sammy's playing is very true to the bluegrass style he learned from the playing of such well-known artists as J.D. Crowe and Terry Baucom yet he manages to inject something very personal and distinctive in everything he plays. Even beginning pickers should be able to play through most of the material in this book. Experienced players especially will find much to chew on here
