name Bill Emerson as a premier banjo player and
bluegrass musician who has dedicated a lifetime to
the development, promotion and support of bluegrass
music. For example, Bill Emerson was a founder of
The Country Gentlemen; he also founded and led the
US Navy's bluegrass band, Country Current among
his many accomplishments.
